That sounds like a cool area and from all I've heard he was a great guy and that seems to reinforce it.
I was in Scouts back in the mid-70's and we were at a National Jamboree in Idaho out in the middle of nowhere at the bass of the Grand Teatons (Army truck drove us back in there) and he actually flew in one night and entertained THOUSANDS of Scouts from all OVER the world. And I heard latter that he did it for free. His place was called "Hopetown"; it had been an amusement park before he bought it, and he still allowed its use for community functions. So I was there for Simi Valley Wild West Days. He was there, in a reception line, but that's not really "meeting" someone. I used to see his white limo around town quite a bit, though only on the east end, near Hopetown and the stores right around Hopetown that catered to the long-term dwellers instead of the recent "development" people. Two of those stores were owned by a friend of mine, so I heard some secondhand stories, but that was it. Jeff -- Jeff Lasman, nobaloney.net, P. O.
