Which ISO should I be using, I thought H.P. Noordam had a solution for this but I can't seem to find it.
i have primarily been messing around with raid in the raq3 and 550 machines changing between raid and non raid with various degrees of success. changing a raid machine into non-raid is easy, but the other way around [ business -> pro ] was not successfull. I have been restoring RAID Qube's lately by simply dumping one clean-installed filled and one empty disk in, and have the system create a new mirror for me from an clean install. That way you have a restore-HD instead of a restore-ISO :)
I think this is what you mean...
For a standard Qube 3 The ISO's you should be using are at... ftp://ftp.cobalt.sun.com/pub/iso/Qube3-EOL/ ... which are the EOL ISO's with all the patches up to Feb 2004 included.
I don't know about restoring from these specific ISO's (although I will find out soon when I have to do it) but I had a Qube 3 Business, bought & installed an extra HD from ebay with an identical model number and restored with the original Qube 3 Pro ISO. The whole things worked fine and I have been using it for years.
