Hi Roger, > I noticed "create-cracklib-dict" in /usr/sbin on a Qube 3. It was dated > 1999. The only other 1999 entry was the associated "makedict".
No worries. cracklib-dict is a dictionary with easily guessable passwords and is kinda standard on any Linux system. When a user is created with an easily guessable password (one listed in the cracklib dictionary) or a password too short, then the command useradd complains about that password. The RaQs and Qubes have Cracklib-2.7 installed. The documentation can be found here: http://www.crypticide.com/users/alecm/security/cracklib,2.7.txt -- With best regards, Michael Stauber _______________________________________________ Cobaltfacts site list [email protected] http://list.cobaltfacts.com/mailman/listinfo.cgi/cobaltfacts
