Not a dumb question at all. It is a method of sending all mail directly to a specific SMTP server to then process the mail for you. Normally the RaQ would look at each mail it gets then lookup where it has to go to and then try and send it there by as direct a route as possible. Sometimes a provider will not give you access to outbound SMTP and require you to send to it to their SMTP server for them to process - they may offer you additional services i.e. virus scanning etc. Its more used on the Qube where it is at the customer premises rather than on the RaQ in a Data Centre. Hope this helps Regards Gavin -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by Web-Hoster ltd, and is believed to be clean. _______________________________________________ Cobaltfacts site list [email protected] http://list.cobaltfacts.com/mailman/listinfo.cgi/cobaltfacts
