A lot of times, the lists are used for solving problems. I wanted to
start off my February posting with a couple of good bits.
1) Subdomains for the 550 and BlueQuartz! Finally... Brian at Nuonce
has provided an awesome response to something that a lot of us have been
wishing for for a long time. Real subdomain support on the 550! He's
got 2 PKGs available, one for the 550 and one of BQ. I've now gotten
both (since we run both systems) and so far, so good! I'm very excited
about this, since our customers ask for subdomains, but in the past we
have had to set up new sites with new permissions, quotas, logins, etc.
Brian's PKG eliminates all that and puts subdomain management in the
site services where it belongs.
Check out the Subdomain PKG here:

2) I've noticed that Gerald at RaQware has a special going on the MSI
servers right now:
http://store.raqware.com/product_info.php?cPath=68&products_id=292
I noticed this because one arrived for colocation in our datacenter
yesterday afternoon. It installed as effortlessly as a Cobalt, and it's
a slick looking machine. There are now a couple of them in our racks,
the other being an Argon system.
So I went online to the website to see what these are running these days
and I notice that Gerald is not only offering the machine at a really
good price, but also loaded up with a bunch of commercial PKG's that
would normally cost (according to the website) $600 or more.
Amazing.
I make nothing off either of these guys' sales. Unless of course you
want to colocate one of Gerald's machines running Brian's software with
my company. <grin> But mainly, I'm pretty psyched about the offerings
and wanted to say a public thanks, and give my recommendation.
