I guess I may get my knuckles rapped for this, but here goes.
The general rule of thumb I use on other lists I own is that it's
common courtesy for one list member to offer what he/she has for
sale that might be of interest to others before he/she uses the
list to spam everyone to increase the interest in an ebay item.
The advantage to the above approach is that if someone on the
list buys the item, the seller doesn't have to pay Epay anything.
