Could be a firewall issue, what ports are open on your machine.
-If using windows try "netstat -an" when your machine is attempting to
connect.

If using Outlook etc, could be the pop before SMTP issue...

#Fix_POP_Before_SMTP

Finally check your pop retrieval settings...is it timing out during busy
parts of the day?

Subject: [cobaltfacts] Connection Refused

It seems that every day I experience a "connection refused" with an
error number of 10061 when I attempt to send mail to my server.

I am logging in via POP, the ip address I am using is NOT listed in
hosts.deny, IS listed in hosts.allow and is also in the email GUI as
one of the addresses that is allowed to relay mail.

I tried stopping and restarting sendmail....no luck....BUT, if I
reboot the server, I can send mail.

What might be the cause and where should I start looking?

thanks

Thom
