I'm trying to get things running on Debian proper (wheezy) from a clean git checkout.
aptitude install httpd python-yaml git clone … make install etc. Makefile's "make install" fails immediately since there's no "apache" user, by default, /var/www is root owned. I see Jasper's done some work to get some things going, but can't really make snese of what to do with them (in /debian). For those that have things running on Debian or Ubuntu, how do you work starting from a checkout? I'm fine with building the package and installing it directly but could use some pointers on how to do that. I'd be more than glad to translate those for the Wiki with the quirks worked out. (And will do tho). If I can get it running from Make install (or even checkout, well that's step two) that would be awesome. Thanks! --Michael
