It uses the installer kernel/initrd in the grub entry.    Perhaps you 
could post the error messages or symptoms you were seeing?   

It might be that you are using the right distro object, but the profile 
references a different install URL.

If you use cobbler import and stock templates, we do this by setting the 
"$tree" variable on the distro and using it in the kickstart.   If you 
did this manually, that could
be confused.
