I've implemented the "download boot loaders" code in the devel branch. I don't want to update the 1.7 boot loaders because it involves checking in /more/ binary file changes in git, which is what we are trying to eliminate. However seeing I think the number of folks wanting to netboot ppc would be really low, you could always update the yaboot file post install to supply a newer version. (Incidentally, the changelog for 1.6 is a bit larger now -- so more things are fixed than I initially mentioned...
