So I have been working on preparing a deployment of new systems deployment and management framework. We have had a in house pxe/ kickstart service that we have built and cobbler is a breath of fresh air. However while I know I could use cobbler as a the external node source for puppet I am not really satisfied with that solution.
Has anyone thought about how to get cobbler look directly at a puppet schema for distro/profile/system parameters? I mean LDAP is really the best way to scale this it would seem and obviously provides a central repository where we can write tools to interact with. I started poking in the code (however not having a ton of Python experience) to where this could fit in but haven't found much so suggestions would be helpful.
