Hi,
as the title says, I am trying to boot either Centos5.3-LiveCD or
Fedoracore11LiveCD using cobbler and pxeboot. I am using this tutorial
for instructions:
https://fedorahosted.org/cobbler/wiki/HowToPxeAnyLiveCd
It seems no matter what I try, I cannot get the livecd.iso to mount,
On the cobbler boot menu, I have tried to re-arrange paramaters,
rename paramaters (iso name and location) exclude parameters, but no
matter what it does not work :( I have not found any solutions on the
web so far...
The most regular error for the fedora livecd is:
VFS: Cannot open root device "/Fedora-11-i686-Live.iso" or
unknown-block(0,0)
FWIW, I think the last Live CD I've tried is F10. You have to be
careful when finding the right value for the root location.
Have you tried using the values that come out of livecd-iso-to-pxeboot
? (it generates a not-quite-cobbler compatible pxelinux config file...
but that should show the kernel options to use. If those don't work,
file a bug on livecd-iso-to-pxeboot).
The Centos CD crashes and restarts to bios screen so I cant see any
errors.
I am using Fedora release 11 and livecd-tools-024-1.fc11.i586 to
create the pxeboot image and cobbler 1.4.0 to delpoy
The question is, has any-body succesfully booted any of these livecds
using cobbler? And if so, what are the parameters you used or changed
to do so, or maybe software versions used??? Or were you sucessful and
I am looking in the wrong place for the problem?
Thanks in advance,
Steve
