I'm setting up IP-based Virtual hosts on a VMWare ESX host running
Fedora 12, so I need to alias my network adapter.
I added eth0 to the server with the correct MAC for PXE installation.
I added eth0:0 and eth0:1 as devices with their respective IPs

Cobbler produces 3 /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ ifcfg-* files as
expected, with the aliases being ONPARENT=yes

BUT...the network is all wonky after booting. eth0 is responding only
to the eth0:1 IP address and eth0:1 and eth0:0 aren't active.

"service network restart" doesn't help at all.

If I do "ifdown eth0;ifup eth0" the network comes back up perfectly,
with everything active and IPs assigned correctly

I believe this to be an instance of or related to this bug ->
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=443968

Does anyone else experience this? Is it intrinsic to using VMWare? I
can't actually test at the moment since I lack additional physical
hosts.
Should I log this information as data against the Fedora bug?

Thanks,
Mykel
