I'd test it, but a straight upgrade of the RPM should work.

As for doing replicate between 1.6 and 2.0, you could fake it if you
setup rsync properly, but it isn't recommended.

No, that is what replicate was created for. Unfortunately, we broke
compatibility between 1.6 and 2.0.
