I'm using Cobbler 2.0.10 and haven't tried this yet, but the error message would
seem to indicate it wants you to pass another argument:

  --os-version=OS_VERSION
OS Version (ex: rhel4) (valid options: ,dapper, etch,fe
                        dora10,fedora11,fedora12,fedora13,fedora14,fedora15,fe
                        dora5,fedora6,fedora7,fedora8,fedora9,freebsd6,generic
                        ,generic24,generic26,hardy,intrepid,jaunty,lenny,msdos
                        ,netware4,netware5,netware6,openbsd4,other,rhel2.1,rhe
                        l3,rhel4,rhel5,rhel6,sid,sles10,solaris10,solaris9,squ
                        eeze,stable,testing,unstable,virtio26,vista,win2k,win2
                        k3,winxp)
