Can you send link to RPM download area? -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of James Cammarata Sent: Wednesday, December 12, 2012 6:39 AM To: cobbler mailing list Subject: [cobbler] 2.4.0 beta3 RPMs available
I've gone ahead and taken another snapshot of the 2.4.0 branch and released the next beta RPM. Hopefully this will be the last beta release before the official 2.4.0 (assuming no one finds any major issues). This version includes: CHANGES * Signature based imports! See here for more info: http://cobbler.github.com/manuals/2.4.0/4/2/3_-_Distro_Signatures.html * Kernel options are now evaluated as templates for variable substitution - this means you can use @@http_server@@ in kopts now. * Network snippets will use ip instead of ifconfig, when available * New koan option --virt-pxe-boot (also configurable per-system), which will force a new VM to PXE boot instead of relying on the --location argument * Enhanced cheetah template rendering error reporting. Things such as undefined references are now logged in cobbler.log, so when you just see $SNIPPET in your rendered templates now it will be easier for you to figure out why * Moved get-loaders content to cobbler.github.com BUGFIXES: * Fix for "NoneType' object has no attribute 'lower" error on distro rename * CLI edit not respecting hash item deletion syntax ('~') * Issue #313 - "-m" option is no longer valid in reposync, using "-n" instead * Fixed proxy support for get-loaders * Ubuntu was not checked as a breed in the kickstart_done snippet The big change here is the import signature support. For those who haven't heard me talk about this in the past, the idea is to have a data file that tells cobbler what to look for when importing distros so that in the future more can be added without requiring an upgrade to cobbler. Read more about using the new "cobbler signature" command at the URL above. Speaking of that, I've gone ahead and forked the manual to the 2.4.0 version, and have been doing a lot more work on cleaning up documentation while adding docs on all the new stuff in 2.4.0. The new website is also live, which uses the Twitter Bootstrap framework to make things nice and pretty. Enjoy! _______________________________________________ cobbler mailing list [email protected] https://lists.fedorahosted.org/mailman/listinfo/cobbler _______________________________________________ cobbler mailing list [email protected] https://lists.fedorahosted.org/mailman/listinfo/cobbler
