My initial build of a Cobbler server was back when Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.7
was the latest.
Since then, I had noticed that newly provisioned servers needed hundreds of
updates at the first "yum update",
so I tried to update my Cobbler repos.

I imported the 5.8 install iso's and made two base 5.8 profiles (server and
workstation), updated all my system and profile definitions and then tried to
delete the rhel-5.7 distros/profiles/whatever

That's when I started getting task failures and reports of missing packages and
such.

I am of the opinion that I may have to completely delete my local repo mirrors
and rebuild them all from scratch to recover from this.

Does anyone see anything horribly wrong with what I did ?
Is there a better way to do this ? Should I have created a rhel5 mirror
instead of a rhel5.7 mirror ?
Will Batman and Robin escape the evil clutches of CatWoman unscratched ?
