Hi folks,

Saturday morning there were three Barrow's Goldeneyes present on the Platte,
about a half mile south of where it is crossed by 88th Ave in Thornton. I
found two hens and one drake. The drake seemed paired up with one hen, as
they swam, fed, and dove together. They were feeding immediately next to
the two yellow-red-and-white "Danger" signs on the east side of the river, a
few hundred yards south of the parking lot. Best views were from the east
side of the river, but I also saw them from the west side. You can make a
nice walking loop by parking in the lot, walking to the 88th overpass,
crossing the river, walking south on the east side of the river, crossing
the river by the railroad crossing (not for the dizzy or those afraid of
heights, although it's safe), and then walking back to the parking lot along
the west side of the river.
