This morning I saw at least 6,000 geese at Stearns Lake, Boulder Co.? Included were two snow geese (one white, one "blue")? The lake is open and was pretty much solid with geese when I arrive about 8:00 a.m.? They were in the process of departing and there were probably more earlier.? Present were a few ducks: pintail, shoveler, goldeneye, mallard, common merganser.? Also impressive were red-winged blackbirds in the trees to south.... I would guess there were 2,000 plus.
