I went on a "Colorado Swan" tour this morning, too. The five Trumpeter Swans were on the north shore of Lower Church Lake at at 10:20 this morning (and it sounds like still there at 11:30, in another post). There were dozens of ducks at the SW corner, including many Canvasbacks.
The Mute Swan was in the southeast corner of Ryan Gulch Lake, very near the viewpoint from the end of the cul-de-sac off Taft Road. This was the only bird I could see on the whole lake. It was very windy. Honestly - not much else could be seen over the whitecaps on most lakes and ponds, EXCEPT swans!
