Adams County:
--A Mute Swan was reported by Stachowiak on a pond on the north side of 88th
Ave and about .3 mile east of Dahlia on February 25.

Arapahoe County:
--A possible SLATY-BACKED GULL was reported by Schmoker at Cherry Creek
Reservoir on February 28.

Bent County:
--A LE CONTE'S SPARROW was reported by Nelson at the west end of John Martin
Reservoir on February 18.  One LE CONTE'S SPARROW and Swamp Sparrows were
seen on February 25 by Nelson.  The area is south of Rd JJ and west of Rd
20.

Boulder County:
--All 3 species of Rosy-Finches were reported by Dunning at Fawnbrook Inn in
Allenspark on February 7.  Kaempfer reported all three species at Fawnbrook
Inn on February 28.
--A Winter Wren was reported by Szeliga along Boulder Creek 200 yards west
of Folsom on the CU campus on February 23.

Broomfield County:
--A White-winged Dove was reported by Petrizzo in Lac Amora Open Space in
Broomfield on February 28.
To see the dove, park at Josh's Pond and head east of the pond -- behind the
houses that abut the open space and look for the doves.  To get to Josh's
Pond, turn west on Miramonte Blvd from US 287, turn right onto N Oak Drive,
turn right on Rock Creek Drive and follow it to the end which is Josh's

mornings with Eurasian Collared-Doves.

Fremont County:
--A GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Miller at Tunnel Drive in Canon
City on February 27.

Garfield County:
--70 Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Filby at Coryell Ranch Ponds in
Carbondale on February 20 and 10 goldeneyes were reported by Filby on
February 24.

Jefferson County:
--5 Trumpeter Swans (4 ad, 1 juv) were reported by Dunning on Lower Church
Lake on February 7.  The swans were seen again on February 21 by Smart.
Lower Church Lake is at US 36 and Church Ranch Blvd.

Logan County:
--At Jumbo on February 23, Dunning reported 1 1st-cycle Thayer's Gull, 1
2nd-cycle ICELAND GULL, 2 ad Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 1 ad GREAT
BLACK-BACKED GULL.

Mesa County:
--White-winged Crossbills were reported by Beason on Grand Mesa at the
Skyway Nordic Ski Area on February 22.
--A White-winged Dove was reported by Shoffner on White Street in Grand
Junction on February 24.
--A probable Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Cooper at the Fruita
Monument High School Football Field on February 24.

Morgan County:
--A Winter Wren was reported by Erthal at Boyd Ponds in Log Lane Village
near Fort Morgan on February 15.  The Wren was seen again on February 22 by
Dunning.

Pitkin County:
--Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches and at least one Black Rosy-Finch were reported
by Filby at Snowmass at the top of Sam's Knob on February 25.

Rio Blanco County:
--All three species of Rosy-Finches were reported by Dahl at feeders on Hwy
13 about 4 miles north of Meeker on February 26.

Summit County:
--16 Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Nims at the Blue River Water
Treatment Plant in Silverthorne on February 25.
--Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Nims at the pond behind the new
Angler Ranch development off of Bald Eagle Drive on February 25.
--Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches were reported by Nims at Keystone Ski Area at
the top of North Peak on February 27.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, March 1, will be to South Platte Park led by
Nina Routh (303-987-8687).  Meet the leader at 0830 on the west side of the
parking lot north of the Carson Nature Center, at the gazebo.
Easy 2 mile walk.  Half-day trip; bring water and snacks.  Please call ahead
to register.
