Hi all,

At Lake Loveland this morning I was easily able to find the gulls of
interest, namely one adult GLAUCOUS GULL and two first-cycle THAYER'S
GULLS. Curiously, I was expecting these numbers to be reversed, but
that's what was there. Nevertheless, the adult Glaucous was glorious
to see - my first one ever, after several immatures these past few
years.

I was unable to find the Eurasian Wigeon reported yesterday at Swede
Lake, however, even after an hour of total searching. Nor was I able
to find any scoter-looking critters. Increasing winds, whitecaps, and
reduced quality 'seeing' made it tough, to be sure. Still, at Fossil
Creek Reservoir proper I was able to refind the group of GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, a group of 11 in fact, swimming by themselves not
far from the now-collapsed viewing pier. I also saw a few Horned
Grebes, including one undergoing prealternate molt.

I then took a trip out to the gravel ponds in Greeley (Weld), and at
the ponds just SW of 35th and O Streets, amidst the couple thousand
Canada and Cackling Geese, I was able to tease out a ROSS'S GOOSE and
a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE.
No Brants though, sorry, but really, I tried.

Have a great birding day,
