Not that this drama ultimately matters to anyone but me, but....I did
go back to Swede Lake this afternoon, and within 5 minutes, even in
the high winds, I was easily able to spot the Eurasian Wigeon. The
bird simply must not have been out when I was looking earlier, because
if it were, I can't imagine how I would have missed it. He is a very
striking male who stands out among his fellow American cousins. I
hadn't seen one 'live' in about a decade, and couldn't remember how
much they stand out. Well, now I do.

Thanks to Joe and Connie who followed up and assured me that the bird
was actually there, and encouraged me to try again.
