I recall vaguely that in the 70's there were nesting Monk Parakeets here and there in the Denver area, but no flock ever became established. I recall that there might have been some near 6th and Simms in western Denver. The birds would raise young for a year or two, then succumb to a Colorado winter. They are a pest if they get established and I don't know of successful nesting in a harsh climate similar to ours. Others who birded actively then may recall more details.
