Coordinated Colonial Waterbird Inventory and Monitoring In the Western
United States: Comprehensive Breeding Season Surveys

The Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory is searching for volunteers to help with
Project ColonyWatch.  This project attempts to conduct a comprehensive
inventory of breeding waterbird populations throughout Colorado.  We also
record size and location of all breeding colonies.  Currently, there are
several colonies in need of a colonywatcher in all parts of the state.



The species we are interested in are:

*Marsh Nesters*

American White Pelican           Black-crowned Night-Heron
    Black
Tern

Double-crested Cormorant      Great Blue Heron
   Forster’s Tern

California Gull                          Snowy Egret
   White-faced Ibis

Western Grebe                        Great Egret
   Franklin’s Gull

Clark’s Grebe                          Cattle Egret


Eared Grebe
