In my haste to send off the post today about the videos and the Black Phoebes, I inaccurately referred to the plumage on one of the Black Phoebes as juvenal. Though the bird retains some juvenal primary, secondary and covert feathers (tipped with brownish coloration) from an incomplete Prebasic I molt, this is a Basic I plumage phase.
This afternoon the two Black Phoebes on my friend's property were exploring the area where Black Phoebes have nested most every year since this species first known nesting in Fremont County some years ago.
