CO birders,

Please join Ted Floyd, Chip Clouse, and possibly others from ABA as we
launch the first of many 2009 free ABA bird walks in the Colorado
Springs area! Meet at 8 AM on April 18th for a Saturday, pre-Earth Day,
ABA bird walk at Sondermann Park in Colorado Springs (also known as the
Beidleman Environmental Center - Catamount Institute's Colorado Springs
office). Directions can be found on the Colorado County Birding website
(http://www.coloradocountybirding.com/county/bird_a_county.php?name=El%2
0Paso) under El Paso county #18. Turn right (west) on Caramillo off of
Chestnut. This road ends at the parking lot. Please be aware of spring
weather conditions and come prepared by dressing in layers with a rain
jacket or umbrella. You may also wish to bring a snack and some water
to stay hydrated. All birding levels are invited and beginners are
especially welcome.

We will be looking for spring arrivals, wandering migrants, and other
good birds along the forested riparian path that borders some grassy and
shrubby hillsides. The birding may continue via carpool to Big Johnson
Reservoir or other area hotspots depending upon attendance and interest.
For more information call or e-mail Chip at the numbers below.

We hope to see you on the 18th!
