Just now at the eastern edge of Ute Valley Park (parking on Vindicator
between Centennial and Rockrimmon) I was alerted to a roosting Long-eared
Owl by mobbing scrub-jays, steller's jays, flickers, chickadees, spotted
towhees, etc.

26 species in all seen in and around the HP private disc golf course today.
Red Crossbills are still easy to find via call. Flickers are excavating nest
cavities. A Cooper's Hawk was seen soaring overhead. Magpies have completed
a nest in a small spruce and are probably ready to start egg-laying.
