About 11 am today one Dowitcher sp. was at the east end of Cottonwood Marsh near the road. We could not decide whether it was a Long- or Short-billed Dowitcher. The bird is still in winter plumage. As it flew away from us, we could see the large white patch over the tail.
The hybrid teal (Cinnamon x Blue-winged) was also in the eastern end of Cottonwood Marsh. Many more Cinnamon and Green-winged Teal are there and as are a couple of newly arrived Blue-winged Teal. Many ducks are there but water is getting lower and lower.
