Hi Cobirds,

There is still space available for the CFO field trip to Lamar and Two Buttes
on May 1st-3rd. We will visit 'hot' spots in Lamar, the Rocking 7K and
Taylor ranches (both private), Turk's Pond and Two Buttes SWAs and other
migrant traps. Mountain Plovers and Burrowing Owls are already on territory at
the ranches and a Golden Eagle has established a nest. The low water level at
Turk's Pond should produce good shorebird viewing. We expect to see many
species of 'eastern' migrants as they travel through eastern Colorado to their
breeding grounds further north. These locations are always good for
shorebirds, vireos, warblers and orioles among others and early May is prime
time. Jim Beatty is the trip leader. For more details contact me at
[email protected] or call 970-385-0184.

This trip starts on Friday May 1st in Lamar and ends Sunday May 3rd about noon
and includes two nights lodging at the ranches, five home-cooked meals (Friday
supper through Sunday breakfast), and entrance fees to the private ranches.
The price for this trip is $170 per person and $150 per person for couples. An
added bonus of the ranch 'experience' is their local history and the warm
hospitality of our hosts. A Habitat Stamp is required.
