Hi birders,

While doing biological surveys in eastern Colorado today, I happened
to come across this Swainson's Hawk grasping one of my favorite
mammals, a thirteen-lined ground squirrel, in its talons. Although
amazing, sometimes events in nature, at least for me, are not always
easy to see. Image here:

Migrants:
Sandhill Crane (38)
Long-billed Curlew
Rough-legged Hawk (3)
Lapland Longspur
Chesnut-collared Longspur
Vesper Sparrow

Enjoy the migration,

Scott Severs
