Spring storms are a great time to look for ducks in mountain counties, so I
headed up to Clear Creek County this afternoon (Thursday).  In Empire, I found
three Wood Ducks (two males and one female).  They were on the large pond on
the right as you head south from Empire on a dirt road.

Other water birds included four Mallards, two Great Blue Herons, and one Belted
Kingfisher.
