Both yesterday and today, Joe Scott, a fellow birder from Massachusetts and I
had good luck in finding Rosy-Finches in Summit County.
Today (Thursday), we had one Black Rosy-Finch, 3 Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches
(including one Hepburn's subspecies) and 60+ Brown-capped Rosy-Finches.  The
birds were seen and heard in a couple of sections of the Wildernest area of
Silverthorne (Summit County).

Yesterday, we also had all 3 species with a Black Rosy-Finch and 30+
Brown-capped Rosy-Finches in the village of Heeney (Green Mtn. Reservoir).
Later in the day we had 20+ Brown-capped Rosy-Finches and 2 Gray-crowned
Rosy-Finch in the Wildernest area of Silverthorne.

It appears that the Barrow's Goldeneyes have departed the Blue River Water
Treatment Plant as well as the pond in Angler Mtn. Ranch (Silverthorne).  At
the treatment plant, I have seen over the past several days, an Osprey perched
on a nesting platform with ~6 inches of nesting material.  Not sure if a second
nest is being built as I have not seen an Osprey bringing in nesting material.
The traditional nest has 2 Osprey in\on it regularly.

Some of the other birds seen in the Silverthorne area besides Rosy-Finches
include  Band-Tailed Pigeons 8, Pygmy Nuthatch 3, Red Crossbill 5,   Evening
Grosbeak 4, Pine Grosbeak 30+, Cassin's Finch 20+ and probably several hundred
of the ubiquitous Pine Siskin.
