I birded at Chatfield for several hours on Sunday morning. Had FOS Rock Wren, FOS House Wren(2) and FOS Yellow-rumped Warbler. The main reason that I have posted is a followup on Ted Floyd's comments on birding phenomena. I probably saw over 500 American Robins, and over 500 Vesper Sparrows. Unusual but not phenomena. However, as Ira pointed out yesterday, there were most likely well over 5000 bluebirds, both Western and Mountain, probably split fairly evenly. Two dead bluebirds were found at the Kingfisher Bridge bathroom. I really couldn't count them. They were all over the place. Spring storms like ths one must be terrible on this species.
