Sorry, two bird words in one month - maybe too many?  



1)  Stormy Petrel:  one of the sea birds of family Hydrobatidae, having dark 
plumage with paler underparts; also called 'storm petrel'. 

2)  One who brings discord or strife, or appears at the onset of trouble. 



Then, it further explains:  Stormy Petrel is an alteration of earlier pitteral 
, probably named in allusion to St. Peter's walking on the sea - from the fact 
the bird flies close to the water in order to feed from surface swimming 
organisms and ship's refuse.  Called S tormy because birds surround the ship 
during stormy, rough waters in order to catch the organisms brought to the 
surface during a storm.  When the storm is over, the birds disappear.
