Ever since that last big rain/snowfall on Apr 16-18 (mostly rain at
this location), there
has been a pond of about 1 to 2 acres in size just north of Prince
Lake #2. I've driven by a number of times since Apr 19. There have
been all 3 TEAL, GADWALL, COMMON SNIPE, WHITE-FACED IBIS, GREATER
YELLOWLEGS as well as the more usual birds.
Today I finally had a chance to scope the ibis for Glossy. There are
about 10-20 ibis but many were resting with their heads tucked so I
could not ID them. However, I'm fairly confident in at least one
GLOSSY IBIS. The flat lighting from the overcast conditions actually
helps viewing. The dark facial skin and eye were apparent.
In any case, I encourage others to check it out soon because the pond
will not last long.
