Today I saw my First of the Year (FOY) Eastern and Western Kingbirds near Schafer Reservoir, which is south of Hugo in Lincoln County (see county birding website for directions). The only shorebirds were 2 Long-billed Dowitchers, a Short-billed Dowitcher, Am Avocet and two Greater Yellowlegs, with a few Killdeer. Not much water in the reservoir there. At Ramah, I saw the birds mentioned in other reports as well as 2 Solitary Sandpipers and a Wilson's Snipe. Nice variety of Peep (4 species) there and good mudflats continue. At Last Chance were FOY Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and Brewer's Blackbirds. Joe Roller, Denver **************Check all of your email inboxes from anywhere on the web. Try the new Email Toolbar now!
