My wife and I saw a broad-winged hawk today at 12:30 p.m. above the gravel pond with an observation platform just northwest of the Audubon Society parking lot (just off Wadsworth and the road to Waterton Canyon). Nice looks at the bird with a red-tailed hawk circling above it. We worked our way north and saw an osprey and four circling American pelicans.
For the mammal watchers, LOTS of beaver activity next to the Platte River west of the parking lot (cut branches, but the animal must have been sleeping).
