Rob Raker and I found a Clark's Grebe among the Western Grebes on the
lake at Bear Creek Lake Park (BCLP) this morning. We also had 2
Loggerhead Shrikes and numerous male Yellow-rumped Warblers - probably
a few more Audubon than Myrtles - 55% to 45%.

We observed an Osprey plunge into the lake and take a large fish. The
Osprey struggled to get airborne with it's catch - and it landed just
south of the lake in a prairie dog town with the fish in tow. Rob and
I walked around to the south side of the lake and found the Osprey in
the midst of the prairie dogs. It must have been 20-30 minutes before
the Osprey took off with the fish, circled around and finally landed in
a tree with the catch of the day. Quite a spectacle and a tremondous
effort on the part of the Osprey!
