Hey all,

This past weekend Joey Kellner led a large group of birders around SE
Colorado, from Last Chance as far south as Burchfield. We had an
excellent trip, with around 188 species seen, 20 of which were
warblers. Highlights include:

White-eyed Vireo
 - 1 at the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar on 5/3

"Solitary" Vireo
 - 1 confusing bird at the Lamar Community College on 5/2, it was
either a bright Cassin's or a dull Blue-headed. Let me take this
opportunity to say that, personally, I believe there is more overlap
between these two species than the field guides suggest, a situation
further complicated by the fact that doubtless some of the birds that
migrate through Colorado are from the contact zone between the two
species. It seems reasonable that at least some of these intermediate
looking birds are just plain unidentifiable, and there shouldn't be
any stigma in saying just "Solitary" Vireo and resisting the urge to
call it one or the other.

Plumebeous Vireo
 - 1 at Lake Hasty on 5/2

Yellow-throated Vireo
 - 1 at a private ranch in Cheyenne Co. on 5/1
 - 2 at Two Buttes on 5/2, and one there on 5/1
 - 1 at Lamar Community College on 5/2

Townsend's Warbler
