Spent an hour sitting by my window watching the feeder. Besides the regulars, I got a good look at a pair of Canada Warblers up in my cherry trees. They stuck around for almost an hour and then flew southeast toward Mead.
There was another bird I wasn't able to identify. At first I thought it was a female Goldfinch but it was a little too large and its bill was more like a warblers, not a goldfinch's. It stayed at my feeder for about 2 minutes and then left. The Western Grebe population is growing on Highland Lake. I talked to a neighbor who lives on the north shore and has a better view year round of that part of the lake. He says that a few grebes stick around all summer and he has seen babies. I never have though. Polly Highlandlake near Mead on Highland Lake (confusing enough for you? LOL!) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Join us at the 2009 Convention in Alamosa: http://cfo-link.org/convention/index.php You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
