Hello all,
We had a joyful surprise this morning when a beautiful male blue grosbeak
dropped by for a short visit to our sprinkler! He was close to the window
so the kids got good looks at the blue with rusty wings.

I birded our yard and the church yard on Tuesday afternoon with our
youngest, Caleb, and our cat. Go figure, she didn't even scare the birds or
chase them! She just followed along wherever I went! We had quite the
collection of clay colored and chipping sparrows with a few white crowned
thrown in. The western kingbirds are singing to their hearts delight as are
the mockingbirds. Saw a ruby crowned kinglet and what I presume to be a
least flycatcher. Those empids stump me!

Happy migration hunting!
