I Sunday May 10th at about 6 PM approx. 30 black-bellied plovers in breeding
plumage were seen at the far end of Cottonwood Marsh at Walden Ponds in Boulder
County. Conditions were very bad with cold wind and rain. The flock came in
quickly landed very briefly for maybe 15 minutes, then took off, circled twice,
then were off and up very quickly. I was able, however, to get a very good ID
in the spotting scope. It was quite amazing, the calls very distinct--
