I don't know if anyone has the breeding bird survey block that contains
Broomfield, but wanted to share that there is an active American Crow nest in
our community (Cimarron Village). My manager and I were watching a crow
dispatch and consume (not done yet) a garter snake that's about 18-24 inches
long. Once it was dead the crow flew up onto one of our park benches and was
feeding off of the snake. We knew there was a nest nearby and Kim finally
found it. She heard the babies when the adult went in to feed. At the moment
the snake is still draped over the bench. Fun to watch.
