Hi COBirders,

Warm, calm, and quiet again. Not much was seen moving around (mostly
Bullock's Orioles, W Kingbirds, E Kingbirds, a few Swainson's Thrush,
and hummingbirds), and the pace was a little slow in capturing birds.
Pretty much dead by noon.

However, after a dearth of small birds yesterday, we had good
diversity today. Seven species of warblers were banded, and a handful
of Swainson's Thrush, for a total of 30 new banded birds.
Brian Gibbons and Josh Shramo banded today.

Banding HIghlights:

*** Hooded Warbler*** (f, and was recaptured several more times during
the morning)
FOS Virginia's Warbler (m)
Orange-crowned Warbler (m,f)
Audubon's (Yellow-rumped) Warbler (m)
Myrtle (Yellow-rumped) Warbler (f)
Commom Yellowthroat (m)
MacGillivray's Warbler (m,f)
Wilson's Warbler (m)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (f)
Swainson's Thrush
Chipping Sparrows
White-crowned Sparrows (mountain)
Bullock's Oriole (m)
House Wren
European Starling(m) (ok, I know, but at that point we had to have
something to show
       the education group!)
...and a male Broad-tailed Hummingbird that was terrorizing others in
the grove was netted - but, of course, he wasn't banded.

Hoping for a weather change!
