Hi Just got back from a fabulous walk up Washington Gulch, north of Crested Butte. We were welcoming the breeding birds we have not seen since the fall. Great day beginning with a Wilson's Snipe in the wetlands in the AM and ending with a Blue-grey gnatcatcher. We were up at 10,000 feet and I have never seen one here before. He was alone and gleaning insects in the tops of willows. He did not seem spooked by us and we spent a lot of time observing. The nearest other birds were the Ruby -crowned Kinglets in the nearby Blue Spruce trees. How unusual is this? Sibley shows this is out of range. Thanks Linda Powers Crested Butte Gunnison County
