Ellie Jones & I, leaving for Silverthorne this morning (Breeding Bird Atlas),
were delayed out in front of my building, listening to the 'fitz-bew' coming
from across the street up on an antenna.  Watched the bird fly-catching, then
calling, calling.  At one point we thought we heard another behind my
building.  The first half hour of our trip to Summit County was spent listening
to the Righter/Heller CD on flycatchers and agreeing it had to be the Willow.
Our view of the bird was limited because of sun behind it.  Pretty exciting for
this part of the city.

In Dillon Valley we saw my first Summit County Eurasian-Collared Dove.  Guess
they have been up there for a couple of years, according to one of the
residents.  Then, we saw how many.  Everywhere we wandered, there they were -
lots.  And we used to have to go to La Junta or Rocky Ford to see these!
This post may not be too exciting for many of you, but we started out the day -
happy.
