The birding was lovely yesterday. Jim an d I went out early and took
advantage of early sunshine. We went to Gothic. at 10,000 feet north
of CB.
In the Aspens we saw the cavity nesters in their tree holes. Red-naped
Sapsuckers ,Western Bluebirds, House Wrens and Violet-green Swallows.
They were all in very close proximity to each other.
Later in the willows meadows we saw Fox Sparrow, many Yellow Warblers,
Hermit Thrush, Yellow-rumped Warblers,
Wilson's and MacGillvrays, and Green-tailed Towhee. Additionally we
saw Robins, both Chickadees, many Broad-tailed Hummingbirds and a
Swainsons Hawk. We have seen this same pale Swainsons each summer in
the same spot every summer for 4 years.
Also early on the morning dog walk we were treated to Red Crossbills
in the Spruce surrounding town.
Happy Monday
