Hi,

We have lived in our house for 42 years. We have had nest boxes up most of
those years. For the last three days a House Wren has been singing loudly
and moving stuff into a nest box. I hope the poor fellow attracts a mate,
but I consider it unlikely in this area. All that work and no results????
We seldom see House Wrens in our yard, and then usually only in migration in
early spring or fall. Even Steve Frye mentioned to me once that he had only
see wrens in boxes a few times in Colorado.

In fact, I have only seen a house wren using a box in Boulder County once
before. All my sightings have been in riparian areas. Yet in NJ my mother
had a yard full of boxes and everyone was occupied. Curious!
