Thanks for your comments.? I think that these birds are probably sharing the same entrance to two separate nests;? The nuthatches disappear into the hole entirely for quite lengthy periods of time, suggesting that they are working their way down to a nest.? The bluebirds tip into the hole, but never entirely disappear into it.
My friends have offered to allow visitors to view the entrance hole to this housekeeping arrangement; they live in Genesee and the nest is off to one side of their front entrance..?
